James Clarke’s experience in the legal world exceeds twenty years of experience in the U.K., Middle East, and Asia. As a legal professional, he has a highly accomplished career which has shown his ability to merge legal precision with practical understanding. He is able to offer balanced and ethical guidance across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
His legal educational journey started in London where he trained and qualified as a solicitor while he worked for leading international law firms. The beginning of his career began with corporate finance and transactional law which enabled him to gain a strong foundation for his later work when he committed to the sectors in healthcare, life sciences, and insurance. James’ high-level senior positions in established companies such as Kennedys Law LLP, BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem & Associates LLP, and BLK Partners in Dubai have strengthened his ability to lead departments into success.
Before moving to consultancy, he was also a General Counsel for a FTSE-250 company in the U.K. This involved leading major commercial negotiations, streamlining compliance systems, managing numerous acquisitions, and restructuring initiatives. The mix of in-house and private practice experience has formed his practical style, and allowed him to understand client’s needs from various view points.
James has participated in numerous projects at a high-level and reforms throughout his career. Some of these include advising NHS England and the Department of health on restructuring of the national primary care budget. Additionally, he has drafted NHS contracts, and advised the Government of Hong Kong on healthcare regulatory frameworks. His work in industries such as insurance and reinsurance has often involved cross-border transactions and regulatory compliance in both domestic and international markets.
His widely respected reputation for his insight in healthcare and fertility law within the MENA region, James has become recognized as a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention. The Department for International Trade and Healthcare UK have teamed up with James on global missions promoting legal collaboration, ethical healthcare, and technology.
Worldwide, James is valued in many ways, especially for his steady, problem-solving mindset, and his capability of managing complications while showing empathy and precision. His consistency of his dedication in professionalism, transparency, and the belief the law can be a legitimate force for good is just a reflection of some of his work.
