Over 9 years of experience in conducting surrogacy programs
Surrogacy is a method of treating infertility where a woman, referred to as a surrogate mother, agrees to carry and deliver a child for a married couple who will become the child’s legal parents. The child will not share any genetic connection with the surrogate.
The process involves in vitro fertilization (IVF), where the biological parents’ germ cells are fertilized to create an embryo. A genetically healthy (euploid) embryo is then transferred into the surrogate’s uterus for the pregnancy to progress.
As per legal regulations, the surrogate mother must have no genetic relationship to the child. Consequently, she is not allowed to act as an egg donor within the same program.
A potential surrogate in the UAE must meet the following criteria, adhering to medical and ethical standards:
These criteria ensure the surrogate’s safety and well-being throughout the process and align with international standards where surrogacy is permitted.

01
Initial consultation
The initial consultation provides intended parents with comprehensive information about the programs offered by the Center and the key steps involved. This session allows prospective parents to learn about available services, ask questions, and gain a clear understanding of what to expect throughout the surrogacy journey.
02
Agreement Formation
After selecting a program, intended parents and the Surrogacy Center formalize an agreement. The Center then begins the process of matching the intended parents with a surrogate and prepares the surrogate medically for embryo transfer. This agreement is a legally binding document that outlines the rights and responsibilities of all parties, ensuring clarity and accountability throughout the surrogacy process.
03
Medical Examination
Before the program begins, the potential surrogate is required to undergo a thorough medical examination to meet UAE medical standards. This assessment evaluates the surrogate’s physical and mental health, ensuring her eligibility for the surrogacy program. The Center coordinates the medical tests, which are performed at accredited facilities. If the test results are favorable and the fertility specialist approves the surrogate, intended parents are promptly informed by their personal manager, and the surrogate is considered ready to proceed with the program.
04
Agreement with the Surrogate
Intended parents will then enter into a notarized agreement with the surrogate, outlining the terms and conditions of the arrangement.
05
Preparing the Surrogate for Embryo Transfer
Based on the results of the medical tests, the fertility specialist prescribes a tailored medication regimen for the surrogate to prepare her endometrium for the embryo transfer, typically involving hormone replacement therapy.
06
Embryo Transfer
On the date determined by the fertility doctor, the embryo is transferred into the surrogate’s uterus. After 6-8 weeks, an ultrasound is performed to confirm successful embryo implantation. The doctor checks for a fetal heartbeat, confirming the pregnancy’s progress.
07
Pregnancy Maintenance
Throughout the pregnancy, the surrogate stays in a fully furnished apartment in Abu Dhabi, provided by the Center. From embryo transfer to delivery, each surrogate is accompanied by a personal medical tutor, who is a representative of the Center. The medical tutor ensures that the surrogate follows the prescribed regimen, maintains proper nutrition, and stays active in her daily routines. The surrogate also receives all necessary medical check-ups and medications as prescribed by the doctor.
08
Newborn Documentation
After the child’s birth, the Center assists in preparing and submitting the required legal documents to obtain the birth certificate.

What is the difference between natural pregnancy and surrogate pregnancy?
What is the process of embryo transfer to the surrogate?
Embryo transfer to a surrogate is exactly the same as an IVF transfer procedure for any woman. The transfer, part of a cryoprotocol, is performed between the 18th and 21st day of the menstrual cycle. It takes place in a medical facility under the supervision of a fertility doctor and embryologist. The procedure lasts about 20 minutes and is completely painless.
Where does the Surrogate live?
Our Center requires that surrogates stay in Abu Dhabi from the moment of embryo transfer until the child’s delivery. All residential accommodations provided by the Center are fully furnished and equipped, including bed linens, household appliances, and wireless internet.
Can a surrogate meet with relatives during pregnancy?
We offer our surrogates the option to live with one of their children. However, accommodation for additional family members is not allowed, as it could create an uncomfortable environment for other surrogates.
Can the intended parents request specific conditions from the surrogate?
All conditions that a surrogate must adhere to are outlined in a notarized agreement. The notary ensures that these conditions comply with legal standards and ethical norms. If intended parents wish to include specific conditions, the notary will confirm whether these can be legally incorporated into the agreement.
Who pays for the surrogate’s food and medication?
Surrogates receive a monthly payment to cover improved nutrition, and all necessary medications are provided by our Center.
Are sexual activities allowed during the surrogate’s pregnancy?
Once a surrogate has passed all required medical tests, sexual contact is strictly prohibited. This is to prevent the risk of sexually transmitted infections, gynecological issues, and potential harm to the pregnancy or baby. Additionally, uterine contractions caused by intercourse could lead to a miscarriage. The surrogate is fully responsible for adhering to these medical guidelines.
Can the genetic parents refuse the child born by a surrogate?
In the UAE, intended parents are automatically recognized as the legal parents of the child. Abandoning the child can have serious legal consequences for the parents.
